Managing Your Payments and Subscriptions
Everything to do with paying Zonitel sits on one screen. This overview explains the Invoices, Payments made and Payment methods tabs, the choice between Auto-Pay and paying manually, how due dates and late fees work, and where to go for plan changes and message credits.
Your billing screen at a glance
Everything to do with paying Zonitel lives in one place. In the left sidebar, expand Settings and click Billing.
At the top you see your Balance Due and how many Outstanding Invoices you have. Below that are three tabs:
- Invoices — every invoice with its number, due date, total and status. This is where you pay.
- Payments made — your payment history, and where to check that a charge went through.
- Payment methods — the cards and bank accounts on file.
If your business has more than one location, billing is kept per location, so check which one you are in first. See Switching Between Locations in Your Portal.
Two ways to pay
Automatically
Auto-Pay charges a method you choose each billing cycle, so nothing has to be remembered. See How to Set Up and Manage Auto-Pay, or Disabling Auto-Pay to turn it off.
Manually
Pay each invoice yourself after reviewing the charges. See Making Manual Payments.
Most businesses use Auto-Pay and check the confirmation emails. Manual payment suits anyone who wants to review each bill before it is charged.
Your payment methods
Cards are added from the Payment methods tab, and a bank account can be used through ACH when paying. Keeping a second method on file means one expired card cannot hold up a payment. See Managing Payment Methods.
Due dates and late payments
- Each invoice carries a due date, shown on the Invoices tab.
- A grace period applies after the due date before a late fee is added. Ask us for the exact terms that apply to your account.
- Beyond that, a late fee can be charged, and an account left unpaid can have its service suspended.
- If a payment is going to be late, tell us before the due date. There is far more we can do beforehand than afterwards.
Changing your plan
Adding or removing extensions, or moving to a different plan, is arranged by our team rather than in the portal. See Upgrading or Downgrading Your Subscription.
AI features
Your AI agents are paid for from a separate AI Wallet, with its own plan and balance. See Understanding Your AI Wallet.
Text message credits
Group messaging runs on a separate credit balance rather than your monthly plan. See Message Credits for Group Messages.
Good habits
- Check your invoice each month rather than only the total. It is the easiest way to spot a service you no longer use.
- Keep the card on file current, and replace it before it expires.
- Make sure billing notifications reach someone who reads them, not an inbox nobody opens.
- Review your extensions once or twice a year.
Questions about a charge
If something on an invoice does not look right, contact us before the due date. We can look into it while the invoice is still current, which is simpler for everyone.
