Understanding Your AI Usage Report

Understanding Your AI Usage Report

The AI Usage Report explains what your AI actually spent, split between chat and voice. This guide covers the filters, what tokens and voice minutes mean, how to find what drove a spike in spending, and how to keep AI costs predictable.

What the AI Usage Report shows

The AI Usage Report is where your AI spending is explained in plain numbers β€” every reply, training run and call analysis. If your AI Wallet balance is dropping faster than you expected, this is the screen that tells you why.

Open it from the left sidebar: expand Analytics and click AI Usage.

Choose what to look at

  • Channel β€” Conversations or Voice calls.
  • When β€” Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month or a Custom range.
  • What β€” All, Conversation Message, Conversation Training Message, or Call Transcriber Analytic.
  • View β€” By day, By hour, By month, or Each item.

By hour is worth knowing about: it shows when in the day your AI is working, which is how you find out whether after-hours conversations are driving your spend.

The four figures

  • Total spent β€” split into chat and voice, and paid from your AI Wallet.
  • Chat work β€” measured in tokens, the units of work the AI uses. More text means more tokens.
  • Voice time β€” minutes your AI voice agents spent on calls.
  • Busiest day β€” when the most work happened in the period.

The table below breaks it down by AI work, price, day and type, and each row can be expanded for detail.

Making sense of tokens

Tokens are how text-based AI work is measured. You do not need to think in tokens day to day β€” the spend figure is the one that matters β€” but two things follow from how they work:

  • Longer conversations cost more. An agent that answers in three sentences uses less than one that writes paragraphs.
  • Training runs count too. Conversation Training Message is separate from ordinary replies, so a burst of spend after you updated a knowledge base is expected rather than alarming.

Keeping spend under control

  • Check this weekly for the first month after switching on an AI feature, while you learn what normal looks like.
  • Filter by What to see whether replies, training or call analysis is the real driver.
  • Compare voice minutes against your call volume β€” voice agents on a busy line add up quickly.
  • Set Auto-Recharge on your wallet so a busy week does not stop your agents mid-conversation. See Understanding Your AI Wallet.
