Choose Your Default SMS Number in the Mobile App
Open SMS Settings, choose the business number under My Message Numbers and check the sender before texting customers.
Choose the business number you want the mobile app to use for SMS. The same in-app steps apply to iPhone and Android; the available numbers depend on your account and location.
1. Open your message numbers
- Open Menu and confirm the expected account and location.
- Tap SMS Settings.
- In My Message Numbers, look for Select your default number.
2. Choose and check the number
- Find the business number you want to use. Check the full number in your app before selecting it.
- Tap its selection circle, then return to Menu.
- Check the number displayed below SMS Settings. Reopen the list if the expected number is not selected.
3. Test the sender
- Open Messages and start an SMS to another phone whose owner agrees to receive a test.
- Send a short test message and check the sending number shown on the receiving phone.
- Confirm the expected business number before using it with customers.
If the number is missing
Check the account and location, then ask your administrator to confirm your access to the business number and its messaging setup. Changing this default does not activate SMS service or resolve a delivery issue by itself.
The SMS default is separate from Menu → Calling Mode, where you review voice calling settings. Check existing conversations and other channels separately when choosing where to send a message.
