Refresh Website Sources in Your Knowledge Base
Re-read a website source or an individual page, check learning status and test that your assistant uses the updated information.
When your business hours, services or other website information changes, refresh the relevant pages in the knowledge base used by your assistant. Updating your website alone does not confirm that the assistant has learned the new content.
Find the correct source
- Open AI → Knowledge Bases and select the base.
- Open Website pages. Use Search pages to locate the source.
- Check the URL. Open the public page separately and confirm the updated information is visible without signing in.
Update a source or one page
- Update from website: use the circular-arrow action on the source row to request an update from that website source.
- Refresh — re-read this page: expand the source's page count, such as 1 page, find the individual URL and use its refresh icon when that particular page needs to be read again.
Use the action's tooltip to distinguish refresh from the nearby delete button. If a confirmation appears, check the selected source or URL before continuing. Do not assume that refreshing an existing source adds every new URL on your website; check the page list and use Add pages for pages that are missing.
Check learning and retest
- Review the source status after requesting the update. If it shows Learning, wait until processing finishes. A click alone is not proof that the update completed.
- Confirm the source shows Learned.
- In the assistant, check 02 What it knows and confirm this knowledge base is selected.
- Ask a focused question in Test your Bot about the changed fact. Compare the answer with the current website.
If the old answer remains
Check the exact URL and whether the page requires a login or hides the useful text. Review other selected knowledge bases, Q&A, documents and instructions for conflicting old information. A successful learning status does not guarantee that every answer will use the fact as intended; test the specific customer question.
For initial setup, see Knowledge Bases: Teach Your Assistant Your Business.
